Lincoln Growing & Learning Garden

The Lincoln Growing & Learning Garden was established by Liesl Schultz Hying in 2015 and is tended to by the Lincoln Elementary students and the Whitewater Community.  School gardens encourage healthy eating, connect students to where their food comes from, enriches school curriculum and builds inquiry about the natural world around us.  The garden is open to the community.  Visitors and helpers are always welcome!

UW-Whitewater Campus Garden

The campus organic garden (yet to be named formally) was established by students and advisors in a Service Learning class taken by a Learning Community.  Their class was inspired by Growing Power, a Milwaukee-based urban farm that serves an area of Milwaukee considered to be a food desert.  The mission of the campus garden is to serve the Whitewater community with fresh, organic produce by growing and donating a majority of all produce to the Whitewater Food Pantry.

PoP Club - Whitewater Farmers Market

The PoP (Power of Produce) CLUB was started in 2018 by W3 and UW-Whitewater Sustainability.  This program takes place at the Whitewater Farmer's Market during peak season times on Tuesday evenings.  It is geared for kids ages 4-12 years and includes a weekly activity that focuses on nutrition and how our food grows. Kids receive a $3 coupon to spend on produce, seeds or whole plants sold at the market. A one time registration takes place onsite and kids are welcome to join anytime throughout the season.  To keep in touch about 2019 activities, please visit our Facebook page.
